- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoM-learning as a strategy to improve writing.(Universidad de Guayaquil. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2022-09) Cerezo Cagua, María José; Bermudes Rugel, Luis HumbertoThis project proposes an innovative change because it aims to implement a pedagogical strategy, introducing the use of interactive applications, which allow correcting anomalies in the written production of the English language. Patricia Alejandra Behar Titular Professor at the UFRGS considers that teachers can apply the use of new didactic methodologies, accompanied by these technological resources. Therefore, this research aims to raise awareness about the importance and benefits offered by mobile learning, developed by computer scientist Alan Kay in the 1970s. For the compilation of both applications and interactive audiovisual tools, research instruments such as surveys and interviews were used, which promoted the design of a guide of interactive activities, which allows reinforcing what is taught, in addition to motivating the student to acquire new vocabulary and improve writing skills in the future.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoThe influence of the shadowing technique for improving the english pronunciation on the speaking skill(Universidad de Guayaquil. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2022-04) Quito Guacho, Cinthya Evelyn; Suarez Loor, Romina Thaiz; Bermudes Rugel, Luis HumbertoThis project focuses on the shadowing technique which has already been used in Japan and in other Asian countries in the past with certain success. This method mainly consists of repetition exercises in real time, in this case all performed by L2 students at the Beginner level. They hear phrase by phrase and follow the audio without a transcript as a training tool for improving the speech with the possibility of using the transcript afterwards. It can be done independently as an online task; however, it is also recommended that the teacher develops audio-lingual material like conversations or music as a means of support. The purpose of our didactic guide is to improve the fluency and English pronunciation of the learners by using the before mentioned shadowing technique. The research was carried out as a field, bibliographical process, and quasi-experimental study to determine the influence of the shadowing method on speaking skills. The result of this investigation showed positive changes in the development of the learners’ speaking and listening abilities
